Arts Ministries in Northeastern Ohio Salvation Army

For over a hundred years, The Salvation Army has been at the forefront of using music in ministry.  We have forever lived by the old adage, "Teach a kid to blow a horn, and he'll never blow a safe!"

In the 21st century, we have quickly learned that not all children or adults are interested in learning how to play a brass instrument.  In response to this, several years ago, The Salvation Army of Northeast Ohio expanded on its wonderful music programs to include other expressions of the arts that could serve as a foundation for ministry and service.  Youth Arts ministries (YAM), and The Divisional ARTs Team (DART) are products of this expansion.

YAM allows those ages 6-adult, who attend their local Salvation Army, to learn the basics of their chosen art form.   Such art forms include drama, mime, dance, guitar, and timbrels. There is a place for everyone, regardless of their experience.
